Give Back Books was created from a simple idea:what if something small, like a colouring book, could create real impact?

After the devastating forest fires in Nova Scotia in 2023, I was deeply moved by the strength, kindness, and dedication of the community and volunteers. It sparked a desire to do something that gives back, and to create a way for others to do the same.

Colouring felt like a natural place to start.

Colour brings joy. It helps us slow down, feel good, and connect; to ourselves, to each other, and to the world around us. It’s something people of all ages can enjoy, from young children to the young at heart.

And when paired with kindness, it becomes something even more powerful.

Giving back isn’t an add-on -it’s the foundation of everything we do.

Each book is designed to support real causes, with $5 from every purchase going directly to charities and community initiatives. We focus on organizations doing meaningful, on-the-ground work that helps people, animals, and communities thrive.

This model was created to be simple, transparent, and impactful, so every customer knows exactly how they’re making a difference.

Give Back Books begins in Nova Scotia; a place known for its strong sense of community, generosity, and heart.

We’ve seen firsthand the incredible kindness of people who show up, support one another, and make a difference when it matters most.

Starting locally allows us to support organizations close to home, while building a model that can grow and give back to communities across Canada.

These aren’t just colouring books.

With activities, affirmations, and engaging characters, the experience goes beyond colouring; helping children (and adults) feel good, think differently, and see how small actions can make a big impact.

We’re starting in Nova Scotia, with a vision to grow across Canada, expanding our reach, our partnerships, and our impact.

Give Back Books started with a simple question: how can I do more to give back?

Living in Nova Scotia, I’ve seen the power of community, especially during the 2023 wildfires, when people showed up for each other in incredible ways. That same spirit and dedication can be found in charities and non-profits across Nova Scotia and Canada, doing meaningful work every day; and it inspired me to create something that could give back in a way that is simple, purposeful, and able to support many causes.

Colouring books felt like the perfect fit; something joyful, creative, and meaningful that can inspire kindness while giving back.

With a professional background spanning community development, inclusive employment, program design, and marketing, I’ve spent years building initiatives that

Support people and communities in thoughtful, practical ways. Give Back Books is a natural extension of that experience, and a way to turn creativity into impact.
